Aravan, movie review

i saw this film called Aravan two days back.
1. the first 45 min of the film is not required. if you chop of the first 45 min still the film will tell what he wanted to tell.
2. the kind of tamil ascent they have used is belongs to a genre of film called 'Madurai film', i don know whether this is the kind of tamil they use to speak in those days, which ever days they were talking about. thank god no character spoke in chennai tamil.
3. full repeated scenes. they go steal, they go to steal, they go to steal, psaupathy is saved by adhi, pasupathy is saved by adhi, pasupathy is saved by adhi, adhi is saved pasupathy, adhi is saved by pasupathy and so thats the first 45 mins of the film. plus another 45 mins they spent in the crowd of people walking, moving and standing in front of the god statue. rest is the film.
4. when you know that you can not do proper cg work, either you should bring in good cg artists or you should not try. i think the cg artist worked in this film were picked up from some streets, where they were begging for some  work. if they could have spent two biryani packets and a bottle of water per cg artists, they could have got some better work. the scene where the second theft happenes and the tree is cut and the bull chase scene is pathetic cg work, who ever did that work should have run away from this country by now,, or else people will sure throw stones on them if come to know that they are the one.
5.last but not the least adhi and the producer were completely cheated by the director with big talk of tamil sentiments. what kind of tamil sentiments is this. such a tamil sentimental guy should have done some research and found what kind of language they were speaking those days, and could have found a better way to represent community than making some shit film about thieves.
6. this is a very good proof that just giving tamil sentiments or by characters growing long hair will not make a film run, or by colouring the characters teeth(pathetic colour).
7. the screenplay end of the day was very loose.
8.a crime mystery  in the olden days, with the same language as what we speak today, with bad cg work, bad make up and repeated scenes, where the hero gets fucked in the end some how is the story of the film, and some characters with colourful tooth.
8. iam really sorry vasantha balan, it was very bad and disappointing, and a waste of money, energy and time.

Elam Arivu (7th sense)

I just saw the film at IMAX paying 250 bucks, so i felt i had the right to write a review of this film, that's the only reason iam writing it.

1. Bodhidharma story was good, but who ever was involved in the research of him from the direction department was just lazy that he/she went through four or five websites and wrote his story.
Why did he go to China from the south end of India, that's a long journey ?...............
2. The modern time Surya, Circus guy, the character was good. How come he understood about DNA and other scientific things in just one conversation and got convinced ?
3. China pavam (so pity), they spoiled their Government's name, they even gave permission to shoot in their country, without knowing that this film is going to spoil their Govt's name.
4. Amazing science that a DNA can be changed or manipulated by putting some one in a water tank with some wires. And Genetic engineers with no help from a doctor can do it, that's amazing. How did he become Bodhidharma, how did his DNA change.
5. The most amazing mistake they did was that they din know that DNA can not store peoples skill which is got out of training like Karate, kungfu or even the knowledge on medicine.
DNA AIYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO how could you change some's DNA by dropping them in a water tank with blue light.
6. That chinese guy Hypnotises people, ok, but he also tranfers his knowledge of his fighting skills to people and the common man who has no knowledge and skill fights, amazing.
7. They spent atleast 30 min explaining some scientific terms, most of them were wrong.
8. Patriotism, that was a cheap stunt to save the film.
9. The last speech, or so called message, if that was the purpose, they could have sent the message through SMS, THEY DIN HAVE TO WAST 80 crores.
10. Last but the waste, IIT spoiled its own name by giving permission for a DNA research that can change some one DNA from 80% of Bodhidharma to 100%, woooow they have such facilities, a blue water tank.

On top of all this, the pace of the film din match in most of the sequences, may be they should have atleast tinkered by having the Bodhidharma's story in the middle, narrated by Shruthi to Surya, instead of it in the begining, that would have raised the pace and matched the rest. And songs were killing the pace altogather.

sorry to say this, i was disappointed paying 250 rupees.......

1. Who ever was in-charge of the research for the film 7th Sense had no sense.
2. Screenplay department had some poor writers.

Seedan, an other mistake.

Iam sure that we are addressing one of the most important part of Tamil cinema. Seedan is a beautiful example. Directors or simply not able to connect to people and their issues. Not just the story, its also the setup. A maid who wears pattu pavadai ( i think the director wanted to show her beauty), a Dhanush film where he comes in the second half. A outdated issue. Subject about aliens. For me it was really a subject about aliens, as an audience.
I have no more words to talk about the film. It's high time the film makers realize the importance and the meaning of entertainment.
Such a subject should have kindled and stirred the notion of faith and devotion in people, if it would have handled well. Now you cannot even release this film as a devotional subject during Sabarimala or Palanimalai season.
The best part is yet to come, when Suhasini her reviews the film :)

Disappointed as an audience, Tamil cinema, the last three months

I have been watching almost all Tamil films for the past three months for reason, especially on the first day in Udhayam. By now every employee of Udhayam theater knows me, the reason is that i have been walking out in the middle of almost every film i have seen in this past three months, along with the other frustrated audience. As an audience i have some expectations and the most important thing that stands out in the list of expectations is entertainment, next comes everything else.

I didn't even expect a good cinema with quality of screenplay and stuff, at-least entertainment, ummhummmmm.

Some of the films staring from Kanimozhi to Nadunisai naigal, every thing looked like a spoof. One film stood out, that is Siruthai, i really appreciate the team for coming out with at-least such a entertaining film. I loved the film for just one reason, entertainment. Our taste has boiled down to that, not because we as a audience have evolved out or something, but there is no good content of any another sort . More than good content its all about the confused directors on, what is a good cinema ?, rather than that, what entertainment is ?.

Entertainment is not sex or semi-porn stuff of showing hips and breasts, its all about connecting people by striking the right notes of emotions, whether its comedy or tragedy. Entertainment as a word is very being abused and misused. One amazing thing i had seen in this past three months is that, the directors wanted to just keep away from the word entertainment and gone into to the opposite, to show them out distinct, saying that they are trying out experiments on cinema. But what i found was that, they were not experimenting, but rather they were trying to be a 'WANABE NO ENTERTAINING DIRECTORS'.

Not having a BGM in a film, is not an experiment, but coming out with a good film which will not require a BGM is an experiment.
Confusing the audience is not a good screenplay, but coming up with a confused character is a good screenplay.
Having a story set in village is not a contribution to the rural India, having relevance to it is a contribution.

I'am frustrated to say that i have seen some the worst films in Tamil cinema in this three months.I din want to take out the names of the films, for just one bloody reason that they are too many and i really get pissed thinking of them. Its my frustration of spending 70 rs for ticket, 100 rd for water and popcorn, and 30 rs for petrol for every movie, to avoid pirated DVD's and what do i get, fucking shit.
But thanks to all those directors who have wasted crores of rupees to learn the worst ways to make films, i at least 'how not, to make films'

Hathway sucks big time

If you want experience the worst service in the history of man kind then get a hatway connection. It takes just two hours for the Hathway executive to reach your place from the time you contct their call centre to get a connection, after that once they take the money no one picks up the call, then after a week the lay the cable and again no one picks the call for the next three to four weeks. Then after a month you get a modem and the net get connected. The speed is worst than the movement of a mutilated Tortoise with one leg. Then the connection get disconnected in a week, you call up the customer service, it takes an hour to reach the customer service call, they pick up and say that it will be solved, it takes another one week, by the time the bill comes. HATHWAY SUCKS BIG TIME...........IT REALLY SUCKSSSS

THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE

I have been really a big fan of X-Files ever since it was there on Star T.V as a serial when i was in school.I learned the meaning of the word Paranormal from Mulder and Scully.I was so happy to see X-Files on the big screen when the last film was released.Almost all the X-File fans expect something or the other related to Aliens and UFO stuff related thing in x-files,but this one really disappointed with a plot of 'Russians in their mission to creat a Fankastine Monster'.
I was sad that both ,Mulder and Scully looked really old(and also realising that how old am i).Since the first film had a big action sequence which had cool CG work in the last sequence ,i was expecting more in this one but i was seriously disappointed, but i got a chance to see them back again after a long time (i was happy with that ,the film ended).

Aamir - i just loved it, the film review

Film :Aamir
Language :Hindi
One of the best films i have seen the past 5 years, this is one film which real had the smell of Mumbai in its Cinematography after Black Friday and Salam Bombay. Both Salam bombay and Black friday are my favourite films on Mumbai life , the next comes Aamir. The cinematogarphy is handeled so well especially the outdoor shots were real cool ones, its may be because Alphose has a good Docu experience on handeling the unorganised crowd shots which are candid, which is most difficult. The scene were he organises the traffic to the shot were he runs in the main road high way is real cool hots, hats off to Alphonse Roy.
The next thing is the actors in the film , real sexy acting ,especially the lead role, when he breathes hard on the road , u really feel insufecient oxygen in ur lung,he has done extremely well .
The next is art direction has really flavoured the film which gave the smell of mumbai, real real cool and natural.
The next one is the whole plot point of the film , its really amazing when the whole story turns around. This treatment is one of the best inters of so called twist ,when u show a sequence which gives a story which is believeable at the same time very normal and commercial and then the whole thing turns to a different new setup is a good treatment.
I have a very bad habit of projecting the story and trying to find out what will happen next and try to find out weather what ever i think will happen next or not(it happens with all screenwriters while watching the film ,i suppose) even in this film i had luckily cracked the end , but was waiting to see how the director will handel the bobm blast shot , it was a really good the way he had shown the blast shot without blood and violence , hats off to direction and screenplay.
The most of all the issues that were discused in the film.In one single film the drector had discussed ,addressed and taken up so many issues in such a little time ,its socially a relevant film, when u come out of the theatre, still there so many things, questions and the story runs inside u.
Best part in the whole treatment of the film i liked was about the family of the lead role, what happeend to them.According to the visual the leadrole thinks what will happen to his family then comes a scene where his family is being killed by the villian , so did they really kill the family or not , because the hero has never seen the villan ,so it cant be imagination ,because they show the villan ,and he has not seen the villan. But the same time it was shown as if he thinks on what will happen to his family , and in the end its shown that the villan had set him up on the theft of the suitcase. So peopele can either take it as his family is dead or still believe that they are alive, this mentally makes u to carry the story and the issue home after leaving the theatre, that was real good way of handiling a film based on issues.
On the whole its one film i would love to watch one more time just to see the out door shots of mumbai.
On the whole its one of the best films of this year, please do watch it .
