Elam Arivu (7th sense)

I just saw the film at IMAX paying 250 bucks, so i felt i had the right to write a review of this film, that's the only reason iam writing it.

1. Bodhidharma story was good, but who ever was involved in the research of him from the direction department was just lazy that he/she went through four or five websites and wrote his story.
Why did he go to China from the south end of India, that's a long journey ?...............
2. The modern time Surya, Circus guy, the character was good. How come he understood about DNA and other scientific things in just one conversation and got convinced ?
3. China pavam (so pity), they spoiled their Government's name, they even gave permission to shoot in their country, without knowing that this film is going to spoil their Govt's name.
4. Amazing science that a DNA can be changed or manipulated by putting some one in a water tank with some wires. And Genetic engineers with no help from a doctor can do it, that's amazing. How did he become Bodhidharma, how did his DNA change.
5. The most amazing mistake they did was that they din know that DNA can not store peoples skill which is got out of training like Karate, kungfu or even the knowledge on medicine.
DNA AIYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO how could you change some's DNA by dropping them in a water tank with blue light.
6. That chinese guy Hypnotises people, ok, but he also tranfers his knowledge of his fighting skills to people and the common man who has no knowledge and skill fights, amazing.
7. They spent atleast 30 min explaining some scientific terms, most of them were wrong.
8. Patriotism, that was a cheap stunt to save the film.
9. The last speech, or so called message, if that was the purpose, they could have sent the message through SMS, THEY DIN HAVE TO WAST 80 crores.
10. Last but the waste, IIT spoiled its own name by giving permission for a DNA research that can change some one DNA from 80% of Bodhidharma to 100%, woooow they have such facilities, a blue water tank.

On top of all this, the pace of the film din match in most of the sequences, may be they should have atleast tinkered by having the Bodhidharma's story in the middle, narrated by Shruthi to Surya, instead of it in the begining, that would have raised the pace and matched the rest. And songs were killing the pace altogather.

sorry to say this, i was disappointed paying 250 rupees.......

1. Who ever was in-charge of the research for the film 7th Sense had no sense.
2. Screenplay department had some poor writers.

Time management in Hyderabad

1.The following is what happened in my life today at 3 PM.
Location : My house in First Lancer Road. I was talking over the phone to my dear friend.

2.My dear friend was in Srinagar Colony when the following conversation happened.
Note : It takes minimum 30 min of travel time from my place to Srinagar colony, with the presence of normal traffic in Hyderabad.

3.Our office is in Madhapur.
Note: its takes another 30 mins to reach our office, from Srinagar Colony.

Now the conversation. Note: Me =Dawood, Mr.X = My dear friend

Me:  Hello Mr.X, so what time should we be there in office.
Mr.X: We should be in office by 4 PM, at any cost, so come to Srinagar Colony, we will go from here in my bike, we will not travel in two mikes, lets not pollute the world.
Me: Ok , cool idea, so when should  I come to Srinagar Colony.
Mr.X: Dawooooood, you start by 4PM, from you house, that's enough.
Me: but how willllll IIIIIII ...
Mr.X: Dawood, why don you understand, only if you reach here, (Srinagar Colony) by at least 4 PM we can be on time, in office.....

BIG SILENCE.........

First Lancer to Srinagar colony ----30 min
Srinagar Colony to Madhapur  -----30 min

I had to start at 4 PM, reach Srinagar Colony by 4 PM and be in office by 4 PM.
That was a adventure................................
I love Hyderabad timing

Three men, the third one, you did it, thank you.

One was responsible for all the insult it had in the past two millennium, since the Bible (Adam). The other, got his respect because, he observed it falling (Newton). The third kind, brought back the respect that Apple deserves today. Thank you Steve Jobs. Rest In Peace.
You did, what Newton din do, Newton should have named his theory as Apple, but he din.
You did what the writers of Bible din do. If bible is the truth, then we are here like this because of Apple, then Bible should have been named as Apple, but they din do it.
But you did it. Today Apple is Apple because of you.

iphone 5, what are your expectations

As far as i see, there nothing much further can be done with phones, whether its apps or speed and even usability. So what do we expect from Iphone 5, other than speed and design (thinner and sleeker), i don know. I use to download minimum 5 apps a day when i first started using a android phone and ipad, now its been months i downloaded any app from store.
and most of the apps i downloaded, i don use them now. some of the apps i use regularly other than angry birds(though its a game) is google maps and gmail.
with the kind of the 3g services provided by our service providers and the price at which its given there is no point in having a phone which has a 1.5Ghz processor and can access net very fast.
i have a 8 mp cam on my mobile, i use it only once in two three months.
more over, what ever features and enhancement ipone 5 is going to have is already there in htc sensation, still iphone is iphone, is that the answer....i don knowi am confused in the middle of the night at 3AM

iphone 5 release in few days :)

Iphone 5, the one which iam waiting for, is to be released next month. i have become a fan of apple after using Ipad for the past 6 months. the credit goes to the designers. i tried almost all the tablets starting from play book to hp touch pad, to the latest samsung tab nothing is as closer as ipad......i has changed my life so much. i have two laptops, one i use it as a desktop and the other, i thought il use it for meetings, now iam stuck to ipad, other two laptops have become junk at home. people like me who have got nothing to do with programining  or some high end graphic application, but just to read, write and to play games, ipad is the best........now after this, iam planning to convert everything else into apple product, starting from my phone next month.
u get addicted to ipad so much that, iam sure if i loose my ipad, i would some how buy one in a week, thats how it is......

Apple vs rest of the fruit (palam)

Iphone(a single model) vs five big names like HTC, Samsung, Motorola (when it was alive), LG and nokia with more than 20 different models of phone plus all those Chinese fake stuff.
IPad(a single model) vs hundreds of tablets. Mac book vs the whole of the laptop market.
Salute to the strong R&D and design team made by Steve, you did Ur job dude. Thanks for the ipod again a single model vs the still struggling market to come up with some thing 2% close to it. He brought the present close the future, as shown in some sci-fi films, otherwise, it would have been just a dream to touch and feel technology, in the form of things that we use.
Hats off Steve. All the best apple. Times change, hope people at samsung and HTC are happy, saving their jobs since one guy lost his job.

Bus un reliable

I have been travelling to Hyderabad all the time almost by bus. The reason is its faster than train, two to three hours. But after travelling almost 10 to 15 times I have realised that its the same. The travel time by bus is less but it's very un reliable. Today the 8.00 pm bus is shifted to 9 and last time the 7.00pm to 9.00.
I have almost travelled all the bus companies from kpn to kesaneini all the same.
I think I should think of train again. It's cheaper half the the price than bus too.

HTC sensation, hands on review

After going through almost twenty models starting from iPhone 4 to the local micromax android, searching for the ultimate phone of the year, I found HTC sensation. It's faster than ipone with 1.2 giga hertz processor, its better looking that galaxy s2 and has sexy user friendly UI better than Motorola atrix and reliable than LG optimus x2 . If you are looking for monster phone that be the everything of everything then go for HTC sensation . The best buy would be rupees 28000, if you bargain you can get for 28000 at reliance digital or any other authorised stores. Be careful with the grey pieces, u won't get the warranty. When Ur spending so much don see for a difference of thousand rupee, the grey piece comes for 27k in Burma bazar che and road no 1 shops in Hyderabad . I loved HTC sensation, this is my first post though sensation

Thank you Chickenpox :) (VZV)

for da past three months, i had no time for anything. I am being truthful, i had no time for anything, work, work, work, eat, sleep for 3 hours. I was very proud of my self telling every one that Iam very very busy, full busy, full work. Because, i don know it gives some kind of a kick when you tell people that you are busy. It makes you feel special for your self. so i was on that kick.
suddenly in between i would get some rashes in the night, evening or in mornings, i thought its some kind of food allergy. Since i had no time to meet the doctor, i became a doc my self and took avil all the time, when i get these allergies. busy man, this made me a doctor too :)
in between i use to get head aches, and use to feel low in terms of energy, some times will feel like shit. since i din had time to speak to people or meet a psychiatrist or some shit like that, i became a psychiatrist my self :)
i became this , i became that, i became everything...........in the end..........God came to me.....
on 11th i had itching all over my body, especially on my face, there were some bubbles filled with water sort, i busted them.
on 12th some one in my unit told me that i have been blessed by God to have Ammai (tamil, chickenpox). i was scared, paranoid, because i will not be a doing work and will not be a busy man for another 15 days. i was scared that i will get scars all over my face, i might not be able to pose for any calenders in the future.. i just took the bus and came to chennai.
On 13th, a doctor at Best hospital, kodambakkam confirmed that its chickenpox and gave me medicine for 5 days. i started taking them. i went into quarantine, in a separate room, i din allow anyone to come inside and stuff. some people were scared to come to my house.
on 14th and 15th, it was painfull and irritating,. i was cursing the disease.i was scared to see my face on the mirror.
on 16th a old lady came to my house, she actaually came close to me to check, she was not scared, i showed her the bubbles, i touched me and prayed, she said its a blessing and told my mom to place some neem leaves around me and some more procedures.
we followed it on 20th, there were no spots on my body.
all these 11 days i spoke to every one possible through phone, i read a lot, never saw TV. I was happy..........especially i spoke to five of friends, to whom i spoke long time back. with one of them, last i spoke was in 2002............
i made me feel like shit.............. Busy is nothing, there is no shit called busy shit, if we don find time to do certain things, those will find time on us...............
some lessons i learned:
1. indian culture and medicine is super cool, only thing is we should know the right people who know the stuff.
2. never be proud that you are busy.
3. shit happens, for good....
there are certain personal things happened which during these days, i couldn share here, but thanks to every one for the help during this period, especially, my mom and my family, who were there with me, the love they showered, and John sir and Chechi (who use  to bring neem leaves every day) thank you sir.
i got so much of love during these days........
thank you chickenpox, love you

I miss the white Rainbow

day before yesterday night, i kept my laptop for charging and slept off. I had kept it on a table open. I woke up in the morning and switched on the laptop. There was a rainbow on my screen, it was white in colour and it was there all the time. first i thought its some image, then i thought some scratch, then i realised its inside the screen. i din know what to do. since i had warranty covered, i was searching for the service centre in hyderabad. i found one, but they asked me to bring the laptop with the bill, usually i don carry the laptop bill all the time (i hope others too). i was frustrated, pissed and sad, because i had to finish some work and i was scared,  the screen will get conked off any time. i realised that there is some thing like this air pockets under screen guards surfacing on my screen, i don have a screen guard on my screen, but i got air bubbles, i realised its inside the screen. still the laptop was on the same table. i was still working on the laptop praying the Goddess of electronics. suddenly i could feel a water droplet on my finger. i was wondering where it came from, is it raining inside the room ?, nooooooooooooooooooo.......................... it was water from the split AC over the table. Now i realised that the whole night the AC has been sprinkling water on my laptop. shitttttt shit shitttttttttttt. I was scared now to take it to the service centre, because they would know, by their experience that this is a physical damage and will not get replaced by a new laptop, as i was wishing to.
I don know, but some how out of the common sense of a rat, i switched off AC and took the laptop away from the table and kept it open till today morning. now there is no rainbow on my screen but still the bubbles are there. I miss the white Rainbow .

Some times it just takes few seconds realise what life is

It was last sunday. I was driving a red dio, early in the morning. It was a usual day, and the speed was about 30 to 40 km, there was no one on the road, a small stone was lying on the road. I saw it, brake, back brake not working, front brake, a big sound,a skid, there was sand. Here iam with four wounds on my left foot, some scratches above the foot, some on da hand. Today its all ok. But for the past one week the fear of falling down had made me a handicap when it comes to driving. I din drive at all. I drove da bike after four five days. All i could see on da road is the possibility of accidents. I am not even able to travel in da auto. I am slowly recovering from fear as my wounds heal. Hope i get back on da road with no fear. I totally forgot to tell a incident that happened in between. Wen i went to da doc immediately after da accident, there was only one doc available in the emergency unit at best hospital. He din bother, he just gave me a injection, the nurse cleaned da wound thats it. I was angry with them and shouting at him to give me some oinment and antibiotic. The doc was cool and ignored me and said its just a scratch. I was furious. By then a tip top dressed sw engineer, you can make out he has been to us twice from the way he speaks. Comes in and says, doc i was standing in da parking lot and some thing bit my leg and i found its a snake, can you treat me. He showed his swollen leg. The doc got up and advices him to go to GH. Because only govnt hospitals have anti venom. He cooky said yes and was about to leave. The doc asked him about, how he came. He said he came by bike, alone. The doc insisted him to take a auto or the ambulance. But he just left in his bike. By seeing this all my pain turned into wonder and laughter. But i hope he is fine now. Later i came to know that panic can increase the spread of venom. The moral of the story.
When you have a snake bite, take some one with you in a auto or something and go to government hospital immediately and don panic, otherwise a guy with a normal wound might laugh at you.

19 years in Tiruppur, 4 years in Trichy, a year in Nashik, 8 years in Chennai, I'am still a software guy

It's been 8 years, since I came to Chennai. I suddenly remembered this now that, it was  in the month of April, I came to Chennai 8 years back. I don exactly remember the date, I could remember the month because I was making everyone April fool even after the 1st of April, in fact the whole month. It was that small house on the fourth floor in Mylapore. Sidin had taken the house, I came to Chennai thinking, I will stay for couple of days and move to Mumbai. I had just left my job at ACS, like a brave man, following Sidin, to do, what  I wanted to do.

What do I wanted to do ? I was not sure. But I was very sure about, what I din want to do. This is when Prem use to visit Chennai for his business meets. By the by I never wanted to be software engineer that was leading the list, It's not because its bad, but I couldn't solve SAKUNTALA DEVI'S PUZZLE BOOK in the college or couldn't digest the Java codes(i realized it when I tried doing a project at Octa with Shakarasubbu in Java). I, some were had this thing that, sitting in front of computer and working on a software is a insane thing to do.

Four cities, three schools, two colleges, 9 jobs, I still use software. For the past one week, I was in front of my Laptop, continuously for  min 10 to 15 hours, working, using softwares, to write, to read, to design, to edit and to browse. I am exactly doing, what I never wanted to do, but I realize till today, because I have been happy doing this.

Sorry software guys, my friends, me and some of my friends use to abuse you guys badly in college, today I realize how wrong I was. Thanks to all those who spent their lives developing such beautiful things called Photoshop, Avid, MS Office, DOS,Windows, Final Draft, Combustion, FCP, Smoke, chrome, FB, Orkut, Gmail, Android and the list goes on and on. I just mentioned few that I have used and few that helped me.
Thank you guys. Thanks a lot.

Lol

It was in the third or final year i don, but i remember it was Lapis hostel TV room. The northi and some NRI gang was watching star movies. I can remember only Saiz, pana mudhala balls, ma.pu.thi and sankar subbu, but there were few more with us. We, Tamil gang went in and protested to change it to SUN TV because some vijayakanth movie was going on(by the by we were hardcore fans of vijayakanth in those days, and even today) As usual we won the fight and they changed the channel, but the northi gang was sitting there very curiously to see, what made us go mad to fight with them.
Thats wen saiz came close to me and whispered, 'dawood, please don tell them that this fat dark guy is the hero of the film, if they ask u, just tell that hero has not yet be shown. Because if these guys come to know that we faught with them to see a movie, in which this fat old dark guy is the hero, iam sure they will kill us'. Our time was so bad that, one of the guys asked about, 'who da hero is'. I told them, he is yet to come, this dark guy in the film is a comedian. Moral of the story: even if you have a small dark mole with a diameter of 22 micron, you don stand a chance to be the hero in a hindi film, that's the only reason i could find, why thlaivar vijayakanth not entering into hindi cinema. By the by we got beaten up the next day, but only kasam was sacrifised.

South Languages and Tamil.

Its amazing how our languages are connected with each other, my theory.

தமிà®´் + à®®ெல்லினம் = மலையாளம்
தமிà®´் +  à®‡à®Ÿையினம் = கன்னட
தமிà®´் + à®µà®²்லினம் = தெலுகு

For people who doesn't know to read Tamil, by the by you should know Tamil to understand this.

Tamil + Mellinam = malayalam
Tamil + Edaienam = Kannada
Tamil + Vallinam = Telugu
Browse through wiki on Tamil alphabets

I don know, why we should be proud ?, IPL teams

It's not because i'am a non cricket for, its because the kind of fights and bets i see on IPL i have this doubts. How many players are from Tamil Nadu in Chennai Super Kings, or how many players are from Maharashtra in Mumbai Indians. Forget about players from the same state, how many of them are even from India. Are'nt we fooling around our self convincing that its a sport and its all about sport. Is it really about sport, i find more brands and names trying to win over in the market than the sport. Its a complete surrogate advertisement of booze, airline and other stuff. All i can see, IPL as one lengthy TV commercial for hours of brands that have money.

Take in case of Vijay malya, he is smart that way, he named a airlines after a beer, a IPL team after a Whisky. Thank god he din become a CM otherwise, Karnataka would have been, UB Karnataka and Bangluru would have been Mc Dowell's Bangaluru.

should politicians have retirement age ?

That was a question posted by one of my dear friend on facebook and some people inclusind me answered to it.
Gandhi, Periyar, Anna, Anna hazare and Kamarajar and many more old guys fought and done things for us. What ever today we are is because of those old guys. Iam very proud of them. Whether its politics or any other area age does not matter, instead we should see whether they are stupid are not and it so simple to measure the stupidity of a person, because the young guys are good at it.
Next big question is whether education is necessary to be a politician or a leader, by asking such stupid question, she/he is making a fool by himself. The answer is why don you fucking get inside politics. You don get inside because your educated and you want a secure life, then why the fuck are you asking this. Get inside anything and ask this question.
After this machine called Computer was invented, the only guys who got spoiled out of it is our Indians. Get a safe job at some software company, open a fb account and just write anything about anything.
We have forgotten that Indian population is mostly based on agriculture than anything else, but we have forgotten that. Today what ever issue discussed is all about the urban educated safe livers. We have forgotten people who live in non-Metros and non-city or uneducated. It was capitalism VS daily waged labor. But now its educated urbans VS poor villagers. Its not between corrupt and uncorrupted guys.

Rajinikanth's innocence and Media's ignorance

Rajinikanth proves again that he listens, speaks and does things from heart. I'am not talking about, whom he voted for, but how he never bothered about the presence of media while he was voting. This is the innocence that makes people like Super star Rajinikanth.
On the other side, the people who were in-charge of the Stella Maris and Media where so ridiculously stupid and ignorant (about law) allowed to capture the footage of, to whom he voted and telecast-ed. Its not just about getting into someones personal things, its also a punishable criminal offence.

Some channels which also have newspapers broad-casted the event and then written about it in their papers shamelessly the next day saying, it's an offence.
Media has more responsibility than any other estate, because it reaches people every day. Lets be at least responsible.

The max right price for a mobile.

Some new phones are going to jump into the market this quarter like Motorola Atrix and HTC sensation S, Sony experia and arc.
I always wonder whats the right price for a mobile, when ever i buy one, but i could never judge. But recently since the high end phone had come, i had been carrying out a kind of market research on what's the max someone in India would pay for a phone. The answer is currently its 30,000 Indian rupees. Take iPhone 4 or 3GS it din do well in India, because of wrong pricing. I had spent the past few months talking to people who buy almost a phone in two to three months and all i could get was a max of 30k.

If its below 25k you will have real good no of people buying. And if its below 20, then thats what is happening to Defy, and if its less than 10k, then you will know the reason why Corby is selling hot cakes, even today.

30k max, mobile companies should realise.

some Android apps, hands on review

1.The first thing i downloaded on my Motorola Defy is Angry birds, then Angry birds seasons, in two days i cleared all the levels. Its real addictive game. Then came Rio, i loved it. These birds are real crazy guys. I loved the last level in Rio, where there is this blue colour bird which flies fast and straight when pressed. Angry birds is a must have one on any android device.

Facebook and Twitter are the usual apps which are there so I don want to talk about it.

I tried some 50 to 60 apps but i was completely disappointed, most of them are real useless things which just eat ur memory and CPU speed.

Some of them which impressed me and i still have them on my phone are.

1. Adobe Reader
2. Advance Task Killer (a must have one, this will save ur data consumed and CPU speed)
3. Dolphin browser and book mark (its faster than the browser which is already there on android)
4. AppsBrain (a must have, these will help u update ur apps and keep u posted on some real cool apps from market, this where i got almost all my apps)
5. Color note (this is one app which i use almost every day, taking notes and stuff)
6. File Expert (this will help you transfer files from comp to phone, and phone to comp using Wifi)
7. History eraser ( must have, this will help you erase all the read sms, calls and browsing history in one go, it saves a hell lot of time, doing things in one go)
8. My Tapu (its a amazing app which is something similar to Flipboard for iPhone, you get all the updates on one app from facbook, twitter and other site feeds and news, i love it)
9. Photoshop Express ( its a lighter and a amazingly simpler version of photoshop from Adobe, its reall cool and easy to edit image files, real helpful)
10. Google family apps like Gtalk, gmail, Google Maps, navigation, latitude and Places is something which is been very useful, i use these max than any other apps.
11. Quickoffice is one such app which helped me a lot reading all the documents, thanks to them.
12. xPiano, Urban Dictonary, Unblock Me Free, The Periodic Table, Traffic Lite, Hj lite, IMDB, Cubes Free, Countries of the World are few apps i downloaded, but i don use them much.
13. Save my Attach is one very useful stuff which will help you save attached documents from your mail to SD so that you can use them later.
14. NDTV and TOI are the only two news apps i have and this has helped me skip TV and news paper .
15. NewsHunt will be one cool app for news, it has all the indian news papers including all the regional ones, i have to download it today, i had used it on my LG Cookie pep earlier.

I still believe he could'n board the train

It all happened in three to four minutes, but gave me a life time experience. It was in the Chennai Central station. I was in the Charminar express, I was checking my mails on my laptop with the MTS data card connection inside the train. A man in his mid-40’s well dressed, obese and Tamil looking crossed me. He came back and said “excuse me in Telugu” (I found the meaning to the sentence later), since I din understand, I said “I din understand” (in Tamil). He said “can you do me a favour” (in Tamil with tears). I was taken aback and asked with concern “yes, tell me what’s it”(Tamil). He said “I lost my purse while I was coming from Coimbatore to Chennai on the inter city express, I need to reach Nellur, its 140 rupees for a ticket, so can you borrow me 140, I have asked my manager to come to the station, he will bring the money, as soon as the station comes I will get you the money” (Tamil). I was confused, doubtful and feeling pity. He din give me time. It was very quick and fast, seeing my doubtful face he moved forward and approached the next guy saying “ I feel ashamed to do this, but I don even mind to give you my watch till you get back your money”. I was in a pretty good mood that day, and on the top of it my philosophy that “ what if this guy is not lying, I would miss a chance to help someone in need”. I took out the my wallet, I could find two 100 rupee notes. I gave them, with a pride. He took the money and said “I just need 140, I will take the ticket and return back the 60 in ten minutes, please wait” (Tamil, with a happy and shame full face). I said, “ its ok give me 200 when you reach ur place”( Tamil, with a generous attitude). Its been two days ever since this incident happened. He never came back to return back the money. I was so fucking stupid, but still, I still wanted to believe that he was telling the truth and he got caught in the crowd while he was buying the ticket and could’nt board the train.
But if he has lied, I still liked the way he asked, and his effort to dress so well suiting the situation, and his acting. It was quick, fact and good dialogue delivery. I loved his acting.

Check out the new HTC Incredible S, i'am sure it's going to a big hit. HTC has taken care of every design issues they had. It's slim, sturdy and comes with 1 GHz CPU.It looks some where closer to a well designed Ipod touch.

The Internet Movie Script Database

One of my friend had sent me the link of a site, IMSDB it's really good. It's a data base of screenplays. Cool site

Wannabe Creative

Most often, taking up longer time to finish a work, spending money on the least important of the most useless thing, growing long beard and hair, looking constantly at the empty roof and doing things which are understood only by aliens, self intoxication of unknown substances like sewage remains etc...... are considered as the inspiration for creativity or the proof of being creative.

Something, somewhere, somehow, somewhat are the most common words that will come out of a creative person.
It will look as if, he is really not sure about what he/she wants, but he/she knows exactly what he/she wants.

Dictionary of a creative person, some words with meaning.

common man - ass hole who does not understand us.

copying - inspiration
good - bad
bad - taking bath
taking bath - what's that
what's that - i have never heard of such thing

Tips to piss off a seriously creative person.

1. Give him/her a time frame
2. Give him/her a budget constraint.
3. Give him/her some healthy food to eat.
4. Ask him/her about their inspiration.
5. Tell him/her that you completely understood his/her work.
6. Put some beautiful painting on the roof.
7. Take him to a barber shop (only for men,) because most of the creative women have very short hair.

Questioning a creative person is the most interesting thing to do. Creative guys hate questions, because they consider themselves as the sole owner of questioning the world. If you want a creative person to turn into a murderer, ask him 7 question continuously one after the other, with a interval of 1 minutes between each question. Highly creative guys will turn into murderers before you go into the 4th question, thats the sign of extreme creative mind. But in some very rare cases, you will feel like killing your self thrice by drowning in the drop of tears that pour out of your eyes, on the second answer for the 3rd question you asked, these are the deadliest of the deadly creative minds.I LOVE THEM

Aliens and Antarctica

I don know how, but i was and is obsessed but two things my whole life Aliens and Antarctica. The one person or a group of people i wanted meet is Aliens and one place i want to visit before i die is Antarctica. Antarctica is possible i suppose, but aliens I am really not sure. All those movies made in the 70s 80s and 90s about how the world will look in 2000 looks very funny now, because 2011 looks no different from 1997. In those movies where they had shown that we will have transport systems which can fly and the clean cities with complex shining fly overs have still not appeared. Movies and novels which have stories about future have always been overplayed with imaginations or may be the writers wish, but nothing changed. I wish the same to happen and not like 2012 and the new movie world invasion, so that i can visit at-least Antarctica, may be meeting aliens is a risky business. If you aliens are listening to this by some sort of capturing transmissions from earth, my message is 'please don invade us, we are nice people, may be we can teach you on how to cook tasty Biryani and Pizza and you can teach us on how to convert water to fuel, lets be friends, that will help to fulfill my wish to meet you guys'

Living with Chronic Illness, a guest article by Eric Stevenson

From one perspective, chronic illnesses are actually indicative of advances in modern medicine – conditions which used to be fatal can now be effectively managed for many years. However, this thought may be of limited comfort to people who must go through life facing a chronic disease. Preconceptions and misconceptions about the nature of living with illness abound, especially among those who have never suffered or had to watch a loved one suffer through a lengthy illness. The “think positive” rhetoric endorsed by survivors and support groups alike may be helpful, but it is useless to attempt to simplify the experience of living with a disease down to “if you think you’ll feel better, you will.”

Elizabeth Holtzman at the University of Massachusetts writes, “There is a spectrum between the two choices of perfectly healthy to hopelessly ill.” Many people see only the extremes of the person entirely resigned to illness or the positive face many sufferers put on in public, not the struggle inherent in everyday life. Some chronic illnesses are highly visible, necessitating the use of wheelchairs or other apparatuses which many people immediately associate with impaired functioning. However, many illnesses are not, and there may not a simple lab test to determine who is suffering from these diseases. Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) are two such conditions. Because they must be diagnosed from clusters of symptoms rather than testing for a specific antibody or genetic marker, they have historically been misunderstood either through confusion with other disorders or dismissal that “it’s all in your head.”

This phrase is especially painful to those trying to live with the symptoms of fibromyalgia or CFS. These symptoms may be manageable, but they also may be actively debilitating, and sometimes the sufferer is put in the unfortunate position of having to defend the reality of her symptoms, or even the existence of the condition itself. Both CFS and fibromyalgia affect far more women than men; though the cause for this is not currently known, the gender imbalance has made it easier in the past (and, occasionally, in the present) for a male-dominated health profession to dismiss these illnesses.

Even when a disease is commonly recognized and overrepresented in the male population, it may go undiagnosed and therefore untreated for long periods of time. For example, symptoms of mesothelioma – a rare cancer which is found in disproportionately large numbers in construction and factory workers and navy men – are nonspecific and similar to those of other, less serious lung conditions, meaning the cancer often goes undiagnosed until the later stages. Obviously, a fatal disease such as this is significantly different from living with a chronic disease for many years, but some of the effects on emotional health can be the same: depression, uncertainty about the future, and feelings of isolation.

In rare cases, a usually fatal disease can become a chronic disease. While the median survival rate for this type of cancer is 9-12 months, some people have lived with it for much longer. Scientist and author Stephen Jay Gould lived with Mesothelioma Symptoms for 20 years before eventually succumbing to a different type of cancer altogether. Australian author Paul Kraus has a similar story; he was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 1997 and is still alive and healthy. Though it is important to maintain a realistic perspective on one’s health, it is also helpful to know that some – though very few – people have beaten the odds.

There is no single best or “healthiest” way to deal with a chronic or fatal disease. Managing the emotional consequences can be every bit as difficult as managing the physical symptoms, sometimes even more so. The American Psychological Association offers general suggestions, such as remaining connected to friends and family, keeping a daily routine, and paying attention to other aspects of one’s health. For those with a friend or family member dealing with illness, it is important to remember that some of the most difficult consequences of the disease may initially seem invisible. Every individual with a chronic illness is just that – an individual – and needs to be treated as such.

Mesothelioma and the hope on humanity

On 1st march someone mailed me asking if they can write a guest article on my blog on Mesothelioma. I thought it's those usual spams of posting links which will lead to some google ad. Still i mailed them back asking them to send the article so that i can post it. To my surprise he sent the article. The article is quite informative on the unknown disease. I was surprised that he din mention his contact link, though he sent he mentioned his mail id. I have written back to him to send his profile link to post the article. I will post the article once he sends the links to his profile. I think, its still rains even after so much of hush hush on global warming, because of some good souls like him living on this planet. I got back my hope on humanity.

Seedan, an other mistake.

Iam sure that we are addressing one of the most important part of Tamil cinema. Seedan is a beautiful example. Directors or simply not able to connect to people and their issues. Not just the story, its also the setup. A maid who wears pattu pavadai ( i think the director wanted to show her beauty), a Dhanush film where he comes in the second half. A outdated issue. Subject about aliens. For me it was really a subject about aliens, as an audience.
I have no more words to talk about the film. It's high time the film makers realize the importance and the meaning of entertainment.
Such a subject should have kindled and stirred the notion of faith and devotion in people, if it would have handled well. Now you cannot even release this film as a devotional subject during Sabarimala or Palanimalai season.
The best part is yet to come, when Suhasini her reviews the film :)

As audience, is there anything wrong with us ?

When i wrote my earlier article, on my frustration about Tamil Cinema in the past three months, some of my film maker friends were furious saying, that it's noting wrong with the directors but with audience.

But as i see it, i don find anything wrong with the audience. Because of one single bloody reason.

Reason:

I remember, till 5 years back i could see that there would be few good films which would not run properly in theater. They wouldn't run because, they din have proper publicity or they din release at the right time or its some sort of a arti parallel cinema. But for the past five years, if you look back i couldn't think of a single good film which din run properly in theater. Patience level of audience has actually improved, they have forgiven so my bad films and made them run. One very important thing to notice is that, all the films that did well in the past few years are low budget films with content which is very different, just to remind you 'Subramaniyapuram' to 'Angadi Theru'.

I still believe that if people come out with films which have stories that are not just different, but also some really interesting 'unnoticed' stuff in the society, that would be enough to come up with a entertaining film.

Audience taste changes with time its quite natural, otherwise we will all be stuck in the times when film was invented, we have moved so far because taste has changed, it for good. Its a process of evolution, rather than development. We have to accept it, its natural. The solution is simple, make people's film. Make films about people not about heroes, a very good example is 'Boss yengara Bhaskaran'. Though it was treated as a comedy film, if you look deep into the roots, its all about us, what we aspire to do, what we are and what we can never be.

We have crossed the classical road skipping the modern cinema into a post modern world, i fell proud of our audience for being patient to watch some of the ridiculous content. Thanks to them, otherwise the industry would have closed by now.

Disappointed as an audience, Tamil cinema, the last three months

I have been watching almost all Tamil films for the past three months for reason, especially on the first day in Udhayam. By now every employee of Udhayam theater knows me, the reason is that i have been walking out in the middle of almost every film i have seen in this past three months, along with the other frustrated audience. As an audience i have some expectations and the most important thing that stands out in the list of expectations is entertainment, next comes everything else.

I didn't even expect a good cinema with quality of screenplay and stuff, at-least entertainment, ummhummmmm.

Some of the films staring from Kanimozhi to Nadunisai naigal, every thing looked like a spoof. One film stood out, that is Siruthai, i really appreciate the team for coming out with at-least such a entertaining film. I loved the film for just one reason, entertainment. Our taste has boiled down to that, not because we as a audience have evolved out or something, but there is no good content of any another sort . More than good content its all about the confused directors on, what is a good cinema ?, rather than that, what entertainment is ?.

Entertainment is not sex or semi-porn stuff of showing hips and breasts, its all about connecting people by striking the right notes of emotions, whether its comedy or tragedy. Entertainment as a word is very being abused and misused. One amazing thing i had seen in this past three months is that, the directors wanted to just keep away from the word entertainment and gone into to the opposite, to show them out distinct, saying that they are trying out experiments on cinema. But what i found was that, they were not experimenting, but rather they were trying to be a 'WANABE NO ENTERTAINING DIRECTORS'.

Not having a BGM in a film, is not an experiment, but coming out with a good film which will not require a BGM is an experiment.
Confusing the audience is not a good screenplay, but coming up with a confused character is a good screenplay.
Having a story set in village is not a contribution to the rural India, having relevance to it is a contribution.

I'am frustrated to say that i have seen some the worst films in Tamil cinema in this three months.I din want to take out the names of the films, for just one bloody reason that they are too many and i really get pissed thinking of them. Its my frustration of spending 70 rs for ticket, 100 rd for water and popcorn, and 30 rs for petrol for every movie, to avoid pirated DVD's and what do i get, fucking shit.
But thanks to all those directors who have wasted crores of rupees to learn the worst ways to make films, i at least 'how not, to make films'

It's been long time

It's been long time ever since i wrote something sensible, not that i'am going to write sensible now but still.
I'am writing this in continuation of one of my posts where i had written something about reducing my weight. I'am quite happy this week for a quiet a lot of reasons, one among which is the weight loss, i was successful in reducing 10 kgs, in the past two months, now the big question would be how much do i weigh, right now iam 94, so i leave it to you to calculate how much i was two months ago, i was 94 when i was in first year college :), so this brings back my old memories. Iam quite happy because my organs are in right condition, other wise this would have not been possible.
This post is just to remind my self that i have to get back to my 75kg status like old time :).
The ultimate goal now is 75 kgs by April first week. I know its sounds too ambitious, but for me i know how it works, so lets see if i can.
